When the chamber is not the right choice.

A clear HBOT safety guide covering absolute contraindications, answers that need review, ear pressure, claustrophobia and the declaration before treatment.

Most people who book complete a straightforward declaration. The purpose of screening is not to make access difficult; it is to identify the smaller number of cases where pressure or concentrated oxygen needs another look.

Answers that need attention

Review does not automatically mean refusal.

A flagged answer means the clinic needs enough information to decide what happens next. Depending on the issue, that may be a simple reception follow-up, clinical review, postponing until a temporary problem settles, or advising that HBOT is not appropriate.

Lung and chest history

Some lung conditions, a recent chest procedure or breathing symptoms may need individual review before pressure exposure.

Ears and sinuses

A current infection, congestion or difficulty clearing your ears can make pressurisation uncomfortable or unsuitable that day.

Medicines and current treatment

Some medicines and active medical treatments matter in hyperbaric care. List them on the declaration rather than trying to judge the interaction yourself.

Pregnancy

Pregnancy is included in the medical declaration and requires an appropriate individual decision before treatment.

Claustrophobia

The chamber is transparent and you remain in contact with the operator, but it is still an enclosed space. A single session can be a more proportionate first step than buying a course.

The booking flow

Book first. Complete one declaration for the course.

No referral needed. Every Course includes a medical consultation. Around 24 hours before session one, we send the consent information and medical declaration. Reception handles the routine process and escalates anything flagged. If you prefer help, it can also be completed with you on arrival.

Control stays with you

You can stop a session at any point.

Before every treatment, the operator explains how to clear your ears, how to communicate through the chamber and how the session is stopped. The chamber pressurises gradually, and the operator can see and hear you throughout.

Unsure about one answer?

You can still begin with the booking flow.

Choose a time and complete the declaration honestly. If something needs clarifying, the clinic will contact you.
